We celebrated the 4th of July by going to the parade, and for most of the event I was separated from the rest of family because I needed to get my 5 month son into the shade because I didn't have a sunscreen that was safe to use on him. We still had to leave 2 hours into the parade because he developed a horrible heat rash. We were in the process of planning a family vacation to an amusement park for two days and I wondered how I would keep my baby safe from the sun while enjoying time with the rest of my children as well, so I started researching safe, natural sunscreens and came across Episencial Sunny Sunscreen. I contacted the company and was thrilled to learn that this would be safe to use on my 5 month old, in fact, it's safe to use even on newborns!
Named one of the top sunscreens for safety and effectiveness by the Trusted Environmental Working Groups Annual Sunscreen Guide, Sunny Sunscreen is chemical free and it's all natural formula is made with the highest safety rated ingredients that target sun damage and even prevent sun induced heat rash!
Last Saturday we arrived at the amusement park and soon after we checked into our cottage my daughter and I made sure all the little ones were covered in Sunny Sunscreen, and then ourselves, before heading off to the water park. I don't typically like sunscreens because I don't like feeling greasy. And at about 97 degrees outside I knew I would be sweating which would increase the greasy feeling. To my surprise though, the Sunny Sunscreen melted right into my skin and it really felt like I had no lotion on whatsoever. Because of this, I was a bit skeptical as to whether or not it was going to work! We spent hours at the water park, going down water slides and swimming in the lake. It wasn't until we got back to the cottage at around 9:00 p.m. that I wondered if I should have reapplyed the sunscreen after all the water fun. So I checked all the kids and there was not a hint of sun burn on any of them! I tend to burn very easily and I didn't have a hint of red on me except for the back of my neck where I forgot to apply sunscreen. You can see us all here getting ready to leave the beach, all nice and sun burn free!
Sunday when we went to the amusement park I again made sure all the little one's were covered in Sunny Sunscreen. My 14 year old however forgot to put some on. She went on to regret it later that night! (she's on the right)
